Each year, the HCH Scholarship Fund is proud to provide tuition assistance to students pursuing education and careers in the nursing field.

This year, five returning recipients were joined by five new recipients. We are proud that four of this year’s recipients are current or former Holland Christian Home employees!

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, nurses and nursing assistants have been centerstage, accepting personal risks in order to care for others. Supporting the nurses of tomorrow is of special importance.

Allie Steiginga, a returning recipient, has been working as a nursing assistant since the pandemic began. “While the pandemic has been a frightening time for all of us,” she wrote, “I have felt God’s calling amidst this crisis.”

“As a Christian,” wrote new recipient Sam Faber, “I believe that God calls us to serve others to the highest of our abilities.”
