The Holland Christian Home officially celebrated the opening of a new addition on Thursday, June 20.

Approximately 100 residents, family members, community partners and friends of the Home gathered for an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony to memorialize the milestone. Mayor of North Haledon Randy George offered words of congratulation and cut the ribbon for the new building.

Built as part of the first phase of the Home’s Spirit of Progress building campaign, the addition serves as a new “front door” for the organization. New administration offices line the first floor, while the second and third floors feature all new private resident rooms and modern common areas.

“We have been looking forward to this day for a long time. God has blessed us, and we are eager to continue sharing those blessings with the senior community for many years to come.”

Steven Eichhorn, President of the Holland Christian Home Association Board of Directors

The Holland Christian Home is a North Haledon-based Continuing Care Retirement Community that has been serving northern New Jersey’s seniors since 1895. Through their Life Care program, residents receive a lifetime of care ranging from independent living to around-the-clock skilled nursing — all under one roof.

Future phases of the Spirit of Progress building project will add dedicated memory-care rooms and services to the Home’s care options. Projected to finish by 2021, the project will also result in complete renovations to Mountain View skilled nursing unit, providing new furnishings and more private rooms.
